The effect that this has on the craft is as wide as the craft itself however its one and only purpose here is to help all students chose a craft name (or seeker name) for them selves as I feel this is as important a first step as choosing to study the craft in general. Here it is simply the adding of one's name or birth date (and if you choose both) to come out with a number that tells you a little about yourself and gives you 3 letters that could be the start of your craft name. Some in the craft feel that this is the only way to get a craft name, others feel that you must have a name bestowed upon you. (Personally I think a craft name should say something about you, but over all how you get it is up to you).

Examples:

Birth date:

July 27, 1981-> 7/27/1981 

 7+2+7+1+9+8+1=35

3+5=8

 

Name:   

((the names are your first middel and last and can be used for as many names as you have))  

Joleen

   Jamie  Jones

1+6+3+5+5+5=25

1+1+4+9+5=20 
1+6+5+5+1=18 2+5=7

 2+0=2

 1+8=9 

 7+2+9=18

 

Both:

 1+8=9

 

 Now if you add the 8 from above and the 9 from the right you come up with 17 which is 8 again, so the first letter of your craft name would be H,  Q, or Z.  HOWEVER you do not have to add your birth date and name together.
